There are many attractions for amateur archaeologists in and around Newquay including burial mounds at the Borrowfields, late iron age hill forts and a bronze age village at Trethellan Farm. You should also take time to visit Porth Island on the eastern side of Porth Beach, which is the site of an iron age settlement and is connected to the mainland by a footbridge.
